The purpose of the Void Payment Record View is to void A/P Payments (Checks and ACH). Voiding an A/P Payment creates a new version of the payment and unapplies all applications. The new payment uses the specified 'Void Date' as the GL Date and creates a journal entry that reverses the original. The status of the original payment is changed to "Replaced" and the status of the new payment is set to "Void". When the void is complete, the Vendor Balances and Vendor Aging are updated.
...
Voiding an A/P Payment can only be done if the Payment has not been reconciled. If the Payment has been reconciled, all reconciliations containing the Payment, and those after, must be deleted and re-reconciled.
