System Navigation

  1. User Name - Identifies the name of the user that is logged in.

  2. Company Name - Identifies the Company you are currently logged into. Clicking the down arrow will display all the Companies you have rights to, allowing you to select which one you want to log into.

  3. Menu Search - A search box that finds all pages with the name containing the text you entered.

  4. System & My Shortcuts tabs - Allows the user to quickly toggle the menu from showing all pages you have rights to see vs. only the pages you have identified as your Favorites. 

  5. Functional Area Pages - Shows all the pages, within the Functional Area, you have rights to.

  6. Functional Area Navigation Folders - Shows all the Functional Areas, containing one or more pages you have rights to. When clicked, it will expand and show all pages, you have rights to and collapse the previous Functional Area.

  7. Header Toolbar - Toolbar to display icons.

  8. Help Icon - When clicked, the Page Help for the current page will open.

This section identifies common controls used throughout all functional areas of NorthScope along with an explanation for each.

Date Picker

When clicked into, a calendar control opens allowing users to select a Date or range of Dates

Date Text Box

A Text Box that validates that a user entered a valid date

Buttons

Standard Buttons

Buttons that serve a single purpose like Save or Delete.

Split Buttons

Buttons that contain 2 or more options to choose from.

  • AP Invoice - New

  • Journal Entries - New

Lookups

(aka Dropdown or Combo Box)





Single-select Lookup

Only one option is allowed to be selected. Selecting a different option overrides the current option.

  • Selecting a Status on the IM Transaction RV header

  • Assigning an Item Class to an Item on the Item RV

  • Any Yes/No Dropdown, such as the sales preference for whether price variances are allowed

Multi-select Lookup

One or more option(s) are available for selection. After an option has been selected, users must click the option again to de-select it.

  • Selecting all the Statuses on the Fish Ticket History inquiry criteria to return results

  • Selecting multiple Transaction Types used to Mass Update FIFO Apply Fisherman payable transactions

Standard Controls

Checkboxes

Used to either toggle something as On/Off or True/False.

  • GL Accounts - Use In GL

Hyperlinks

When clicked, navigates the user to another record or page.

  • Inventory - Transactions - Transaction ID

Text Boxes

Used for free form data entry.
