Cost Groups are used to associate items together that share the same cost model. They are used in Inventory and can be assigned to Item Classes and/or Items. The purpose of this page is to add, edit, remove, and activate/inactive these records.

Cost Group

A text box to add or edit the unique identifier of the Cost Group record. This defaults to blank but is required for all records. If missing, the message "Blank Cost Groups are not allowedCost Group is required." will be displayed on Save. The ID must be unique, otherwise the message "Duplicate Cost Groups are not allowed." will be displayed on Save. This field must be <= 50 characters.

Description

A text box to add/edit the name associated with the Cost Group. This defaults to blank but is required. If missing, the message "Blank Cost Group Descriptions are not allowedDescription is required." will be displayed on Save. This field can be duplicated but must be <= 100 characters.

Inactive

A Yes/No field used to identify if the Chill Type is Inactive. If set to 'Yes' then the record is "Inactive" and will not be included in look-ups. Setting this to Inactive only prevents the record from being manually assigned to new transactions or master files, it does not prevent transactions containing this value to be posted. 'No' values display as blank in the grid. This value is always editable.
