Planning Items are attached to Cost Formulas and used to record costs and recovery %. Planning Items are similar to non-inventory tracked Item Codes and examples may include things like: Labor, Overhead, Packaging, Raw Material, etc. They are used in the Inventory functional Area for Bill of Materials. The purpose of this page is to add, edit, remove, and activate/inactive these records.

This list view also contains columns for each Attribute that is set up for the 'Items' attribute type. Because these are user defined, they are not included in the default view but can be added a saved layout. 'Items' attributes are not included in the help documentation.

# Cost Items

Identifies the number of Cost Items that are assigned to the BOM. This is a calculated field that sums the number of items that are on the 'Cost Items' tab of the corresponding BOM record. This is never editable and will update as Cost Items are added / removed from the 'Cost Items' tab of the record view.

# Inv. Items

Identifies the number of Inventory Items that are assigned to the BOM. This is a calculated field that sums the number of items that are on the 'Inventory Items' tab of the corresponding BOM record. This is never editable and will update as Inventory Items are added / removed from the 'Cost Items' tab of the record view.

Batch Units

Identifies the sum of all the Line Items 'Units', formatted to 2 decimal places. This is a calculated field and can only be edited by changing the quantity of 'Units' on one or more line items on the BOM Record View.

Batch Weight

Identifies the sum of all the Line Items 'Weight', formatted to 2 decimal places. This is a calculated field and can only be edited by changing the quantity of 'Weight' on one or more line items on the BOM Record View.

BOM ID

Identifies the unique Transaction ID for each BOM record. Clicking on the link opens the corresponding transaction record view. This is a system assigned value that comes from the 'Doc Prefix' + 'Next Num.' of the selected BOM Class of the record and is not editable by users.

BOM Item

Identifies the BOM Item, displayed as Item ID: Description. This is a non-editable textbox that displays the BOM Item assigned to the corresponding record.
