Improvements

Inventory

Costing updates

Costing is an essential part of any business. We need to know how much things cost before we can sell them to make sure we are making a profit. But there is more than that, these costs should be in our GL. Inventory Balances should always match your General Ledger. This is what we aimed to do with this release. Here are the features updated:

  • Update Costs
    • Several columns were added and reorganized for ease of auditing
    • More Actions – Links were fixed to open the Cost History and Lot Balance pages to further audit.
    • Mass Update
      • Completely revamped. You can update base costs, layer costs, costs from costs, post to the GL, and pull costs from purchase orders.
      • Please see the Help for further details.
  • Cost History
    • Search options were revamped to make filtering for what you are looking for easier. We also changed labels for search options to be consistent with the data they relate to.
    • Columns were added, removed, and reorganized to make auditing cost history easier.

Purchasing

NS-9359 Added more control to Payment Terms on Purchase Orders and Invoices/Credit Memos

Remember in school where teachers would tell us that we won’t always have a calculator around to do calculations? Well, we thought, maybe they are right. Instead of having you calculate the due date or discount date based on number of days and counting on your fingers while looking at a calendar, we gave you the option to either pick a due date or due days. This means that you can now say, this invoice is due in 10 days, or this invoice is due on June 30th. Either way it works out well. But that’s not all, you can also do this with discount date. Happy purchasing!

Sales

NS-9379 Added calculation for Average Days to Pay

I think it’s safe to say that everyone likes payday. Now imagine if you didn’t have a regularly scheduled payday and it happened on different days every time. Sometimes this is the case with customers paying their bills. Given this, we created a property for customers to display the Average Days to Pay, as in, on average how long does this customer take to pay. This gives a better understanding on when you can expect to be paid. Additionally, you can analyze customers that you may need to have a conversation with, that unfortunately we can’t help with.

Sales Programs

Converted to 3.0 and added Rebates and Off Book

It’s no secret that Sales Programs needed some love. They have been long neglected and it was about time that we did something about that. We started by converting pages to the 3.0 framework to make them faster, better, stronger. We didn’t stop there though, it didn’t quite make sense that we forced you, the user, to set up a brokerage program for both literal brokerages AND rebates. This being said, we added a new program type of “Rebate” so that you can make, well, literal rebate programs. We also added Off Book programs for programs that calculate with specific parameters but.. get this… are off book.

Many pages went through the revamp process, here is the list:

  • Sales Programs List View
  • Sales Program Record View
  • Program Classes List View
  • Process Settlements
  • Program Balances List View

We aren’t stopping there, we still have a handful more, so stay tuned for future releases.

Bug Fixes

Framework

NS-9978 Fixed an issue with custom split buttons

Split buttons are pretty cool in that we can add many actions to a single button to not take up precious toolbar space. However, these aren’t so cool when those actions don’t work. This was the case with some split buttons but not all. Now all split buttons work as expected and we aren’t split in functional buttons.

Purchasing

NS-9882 Fixed an issue with Mass Update clearing the Reference field value for Invoices/Credit Memos

When mass updating Invoices/Credit Memos the Reference field would be cleared. This isn’t good, mass updating should be a convenient process and losing data isn’t exactly that. So we squashed this pesky bug.
