New Feature

Framework

Feature Spotlight! NS-4932 New menu search feature

A new ‘Menu Search’ box has been added, at the top of the navigation menu, that allows users to search for, and open pages. Once 3 or more characters are entered in the search box, all user-accessible pages, containing the search string, will be displayed. The results are sorted by page name and functional area. Users can click on a search result or use the arrow keys to select a page and press Enter to open it.

Users can access the Menu Search box by clicking directly in the textbox or pressing Alt + / on the keyboard (unless the cursor is focused in a data entry field).

Feature Spotlight! NS-4932 New feature to assign pages to ‘My Shortcuts’

A new feature has been added to identify pages as shortcuts on the navigation menu. Shortcuts show in the ‘My Shortcuts’ tab on the navigation menu and are user specific. Users can click on a shortcut page or use the arrow keys to select a page and press Enter to open it. Users can also right click on a shortcut page and select “Open in new window”.

Shortcuts can be assigned in two ways:

  • When a page is open, click the star icon in the header toolbar. When a page is assigned as a shortcut, the icon will toggle “on” (display as solid) and when not assigned it will be an outline.
  • To assign multiple shortcuts at once, open the ‘My Shortcuts Setup’ tab on the ‘My Profile’ page or from the User Record View. This tab displays all the forms that the selected user has rights to, by company and functional area. From here, set the ‘Shortcut’ column to “Yes” for each page you want as a shortcut. Enter an optional ‘Shortcut Alias’ if you want the page to have a different name within the ‘My Shortcuts’ tab on the navigation menu.

Note: Adding a Shortcut will require a browser refresh or for the user to logout of NorthScope and back in to be visible on the left-hand menu.

Note: Shortcuts are not currently available for Reports or Inquiries.
