NS-6409 Renamed the Account Balance Inquiry to GL Account Balances; Updated page with search options and moved to the Navigation Menu

The existing Account Balance Inquiry was moved to be visible from the left navigation menu and renamed to GL Account Balances. We’ve added several search options so that you may find the GL Accounts that you need quicker and without having to scroll. Fun fact: The Search text box allows searching by a single Account / Account Description or by a range of Accounts using a colon. For example, entering “1000:2000” in the Search text box will return all GL Accounts between 1000 and 2000.

We also added several new columns, including Category, Account Class, Balances Thru and Balance. Users will now be able to see the Balance of each GL Account, up until the Balances Thru date. The ‘Balances Thru’ column displays the value the user entered in the Balances Thru search option. If the Balances Thru search option is blank, the column will default to the last day of the current fiscal year. You’ll also notice a new View button to open the GL Account Balance by Period Inquiry or Journal Line History Inquiry for one or more selected GL Accounts.

As if all those updates were not enough, we moved this page into our new NorthScope 3.0 Framework. Talk about a glow up!

 

NS-6413 Renamed the Account Balance Summary Inquiry to GL Account Balances by Period Inquiry; Updated page with search options and new columns

The existing Account Balance Summary Inquiry was renamed to GL Account Balances by Period Inquiry. We added several search options to the page to assist in returning only the data you care to see. Similar to the GL Account Balances List View, the Search text box allows searching by a single Account / Account Description or a range of Accounts using a colon. For example, entering “1000:2000” in the Search text box will return all GL Accounts between 1000 and 2000. In addition to Fiscal Year, either the Search text box or GL Account is required for the inquiry to return results.

We also added several new columns, including Account Description (hidden by default) and Journal Line Details. The Beginning Balance row has been removed, as users can already see the Beginning Balance for each Fiscal Period. Each row will also display a View hyperlink for launching the Journal Line History Inquiry for the associated GL Account and Period.

And finally, we moved this page into our new NorthScope 3.0 Framework.

 

NS-6423 Updated Journal Line History Inquiry with search options and new columns

The Journal Line History Inquiry has moved to our new NorthScope 3.0 Framework. It also has new search options. The Search text box allows searching by a single Account / Account Description or a range of Accounts using a colon. For example, entering “1000:2000” in the Search text box will return all GL Accounts between 1000 and 2000. In addition to Fiscal Year, either the Search text box or GL Account is required for the inquiry to return results.

Three new columns, Net Change, Balance and Functional Area, were added to be visible by default. The Functional Area column replaced the Source Module column and the GL Year / GL Period columns are now labeled as Fiscal Year / Fiscal Period. The Balance column represents the GL Account balance after the Journal Line and is calculated as [Prev Balance + Net Change]. GL Account Segments (not visible by default) are also new columns. And to wrap it all up, we’ve added a row specifically for Beginning Balance.
