Improvements

Fisherman Accounting

NS-6459 Added an ACH Effective Date to Process Payments record view and ACH Batch Inquiry for ACH payments

To allow users to generate an ACH file with a date that is different to the Payment Batch Date, we have added a new ACH Effective Date field to the Process Payments record view and to Mass Update on the ACH Batch Inquiry.  If users enter an ACH Effective Date that is in the past or on a weekend the following message will be displayed “Warning, one or more of the ACH batches you have selected has a date that is either in the past or occurs on a weekend.” to the user with the option to click ‘OK’ or ‘Cancel’ and change the date if needed.

Framework

NS-7005 Updated Inquiries to use existing My Shortcuts functionality

Inquiries have been updated to utilize the My Shortcuts functionality. What does this mean exactly? We removed the Favorite column on the Inquiries page in each functional area. Instead, to display an Inquiry in the My Shortcuts tab in the left navigation menu, you can either click the star icon on the inquiry itself or open the My Profile > My Shortcuts Setup tab and select “Yes” in the Shortcut column.

Note: A datafix was included with this item so that if you previously had an Inquiry marked as a Favorite, those Inquiries should now be displayed in the My Shortcuts tab automagically.

NS-7262 Added support for emailing additional file formats from the Print Dialog window

Previously, the only file format that could be emailed from the Print Dialog window was .pdf, however now users will be able to email reports in the following supported file formats: .pdf, .xls, .csv, .doc

Note: Reports generated from Report Distribution will remain in .pdf format only.

Grower Accounting

NS-6609 Added a default Site property to Fields master file

A ‘Site’ field has been added to the Fields master file to allow users to specify a default Site. Initially, the ‘Site’ field will default to “Use Preference”, meaning the ‘Default Site’ preference value saved on the Grower Account Preferences page. Updating the ‘Site’ field on the Fields master file will override the ‘Default Site’ preference. If a Site is subsequently marked as inactive and users attempt to create a ticket with the inactive default site, then we will display a message prompt to remind users to select an active Site.

Inventory

NS-6734 Updated Inventory Inquiries with New Filter Criteria

All of our inventory inquiries have joined the “Consistent Search Options” club. We’ve added many of the same search options (i.e. Lot Owner, Item Class, etc,) across all inventory inquiries, as it makes sense. When a search option is blank or does not default to a selected value, NorthScope will treat that as “All” options selected, so that you don’t have to spend extra time clicking the “All” button on each field.

NS-7013 Improved Search text box functionality on Inquiries

If you want to be specific when searching for data in an inquiry, we’ve improved the ‘Search’ text box functionality to work with the following keywords:

  • Attr (search Attribute values)
  • Batch (search Production Batch)
  • Item (search Item ID and Description)
  • Owner (search Lot Owner)
  • Site (search Site ID and Site Name)
  • WLot (search the Warehouse Lot ID)

The format for searching with keywords is [Keyword]: [search term]. Also, commas are permitted between keywords to return results for additional search criteria. For example, find an item balance for a specific Site and Warehouse Lot by entering “Site: Bellingham, WLot: 410” in the Search text box.

Drawing a blank on the exact wording to search on? Now you can search for text in reverse order. For example, the same search results will be returned for “Item: 4-5 salmon” and “Item: salmon 4-5”. Please see the How do I search in NorthScope? FAQ for additional information. #ReverseSearchForTheWin

NS-7181 Added inventory balances preferences and updated several inquiries with new search options and columns

Once we start, we won’t stop. More inventory updates are coming your way. First up, we added 5 new inventory preferences listed under the group “Inventory Balances”. These preferences will allow you to specify when Sales Order On Hand balances are displayed and when Inventory Available balances are displayed. We default Sales Order On Hand balances to not include orders in Shipped and Approved status. And we default all inventory transactions to display Available balances on open transactions. You may update these preferences values to your liking and inventory balances will be adjusted accordingly. Secondly, the Lot Balances List View, Item Balances List View and Commitments and Allocations Inquiry have several new columns: Committed (+), Committed (-), Allocated (+) and Allocated (-). The values in each column will always be positive and the Available balance will be calculated as follows: Available = On Hand - On Hold + Positive Commitments - Negative Commitments + Positive Allocations - Negative Allocations. On the Item Balances List View, users may opt to group item balances by Lot Owner using the 'Group by Owner' search option. On the Lot Balances List View, item tracked items will display with a Production Batch value of “Item Tracked” and lot tracked items will display with a Production Batch value of “Committed” for transactions where the Production Batch and Warehouse Lot have not been specified.

The Item Balances List View, Lot Balances List View, Commitments and Allocations Inquiry, Transaction History - Item Inquiry and Transaction History - Lot Inquiry all have a new View button with options to drill deeper into committed and allocated balances, transaction history balances and inventory lot balances, as it makes sense. The View button also has options to open the Item Record View, Production Batch Record View, Warehouse Lots List View, Sales Order Record View, Inventory Transaction Record View and Shipment Details Record View.

The Commitments and Allocations Inquiry can be accessed from the Item Balances List View and Lot Balances List View by selecting one or more rows and clicking View Commitments and Allocations. Additionally, we’ve also added it to the Inventory Inquiries page to be accessed directly, instead of from a parent page. To this Inquiry. we added Item and Site search options and removed the Status search option.

Finally, the Transaction History - Item Inquiry and Transaction History - Lot Inquiry have a slew of new search options that we think you will find useful. One item to take note of is that there is a new ‘Include’ search option for “Beginning Balances” that is defaulted. This option will display a row with beginning balances for the Item/Lot, so as long as the beginning balance is not zero.

Note: For additional information and examples of how inventory transactions and sales order affect each of the new columns, please refer to the Understanding Inventory Balances FAQ.

Purchasing

Sales

NS-7270 Added ability to create reports with Customer Name as part of the file name

We have added the ability to generate report files with the customer name as part of the file name for all file formats. This does not automatically apply to all reports, as the associated report would need to be set up with the new template in order to generate the customer name as part of the file name. An example of what the file name would look like for report in Excel format: QS Invoice NS - ABC Seafood - INV1020 - (20201023101436).xlsx

NS-7299 Added Customer Address Attributes to the Select Ship-To' page on a Sales Order

Users will now be able to view customer address attributes on the ‘Select Ship-To' page of a new sales order by selecting the columns from the column chooser.  Users will also be able to save a column layout for this page should they wish to save any selected attribute columns to display by default.

Bug Fixes

Fisherman Accounting

NS-7121 Fixed an issue with removing Manual Premiums on Fish Ticket record view

Our code was preventing users from removing all manual premiums from a Fish Ticket. We’ve rectified the situation and removing premiums should be a breeze now.
