NS-6750, NS-6754, NS-6758, NS-6762, NS-6766 & NS-7610 Updated Reports to be more user friendly

This week, we are coming at you with a few Report updates:

We updated the existing RSReportType Enumeration Class to include more Report Types. There are now 11 different Report Types available to classify reports. Any existing shipped reports will automatically be updated with the correct Report Type after the upgrade. When adding a new report manually, this field needs to be specified.

The Manage Reports List View has moved under the System --> Configuration menu. We renamed the ‘Location’ column to be more consistent and display as ‘Launch From’. To provide more information on this List View, we also added three new columns called ‘Report Type’, ‘Description’ and ‘Help’. The ‘Help’ column contains a ‘View’ hyperlink to open the associated help page for the report in a new tab, only if one exists. Else this field is blank.

The Reports List View also has a new ‘Help’ column to open the associated help page for the report in a new tab. The Print Dialog has the same ‘Help’ column displayed between 'Report Name' and 'Export Formats Allowed'. In all cases, the ‘Help’ column displays a ‘View’ hyperlink to open the associated help page for the report in a new tab, if one exists. If no help page exists, then this field will be blank.

Printing and reprinting reports of ‘Direct Print’ and ‘Print Dialog’ type reports will open in a new tab, instead of opening in a sub-window. These include printing checks/ACH payments and any reports from the Print Dialog.    (Note: It is strongly suggested to add your NorthScope website to the list of sites in your browser that allow pop-ups. It often happens that when a document is printed in a new tab it is being considered a pop-up and will be blocked.)

Sales

NS-7791 Added order transaction class properties for requiring a salesperson

We added two new transaction class properties to the Order transaction type: ‘Require Inside Salesperson for Posting' and ‘Require Outside Salesperson for Posting’. These properties will default to “No” and if updated to “Yes”, then validation will occur only when the Status of the order is set to “Approved” or “Ready To Post”. If the Inside and/or Outside Salesperson is required, but not specified, the message “[Transaction ID]: Inside Salesperson is required.“ and/or “[Transaction ID]: Outside Salesperson is required.“ will be displayed on Save. We’ve got you covered when it comes to Workflow too. Selecting a Workflow that moves the Status of an order to “Approved” or “Ready To Post” will also display the error message if Inside/Outside Salesperson is required but not specified. Not to worry, these error messages will be displayed from both the Transaction Record View and the Transaction List View (when selecting one or many transactions).
