How do Sales UOM defaults work in NorthScope?

UOM defaults for units, weight and price may get confusing depending on whether the item is on a Price List and/or set up as a Customer favorite. These UOM defaults are automatically applied on the Find Items Record View, Item Lookup dialog box and Sales Transaction Record View Items grid. The following specifies the order NorthScope will follow to default the Units UOM, Weight UOM and Price UOM for an item.

Units UOM Default

  • If the Item is on a Price List and the 'Price UOM' is a Unit Type UOM, then use the Price List 'Price UOM'
  • If the Item is set up as a Favorite in the 'Favorites' tab of the Customer Record View or Customer Addresses Record View, then use the Favorites 'Unit UOM'
  • Use the item’s default 'Sales Order Unit UOM' property

Weight UOM Default

  • If the Item is on a Price List and the 'Price UOM' is a Weight Type UOM, then use the Price List 'Price UOM'
  • If the Item is set up as a Favorite in the 'Favorites' tab of the Customer Record View or Customer Addresses Record View, then use the Favorites 'Weight UOM'
  • Use the Item’s default 'Sales Order Weight UOM' property

Price UOM Default

  • If the Item is on a Price List, then use the Price List 'Price UOM'
  • If the Item is set up as a Favorite in the 'Favorites' tab of the Customer Record View or Customer Addresses Record View, then use the Favorite's 'Price UOM'
  • Use the Item’s 'Default Price UOM' property
