NS-8151 NorthScope 3.0 Framework Updates

We love our Customers! Thanks to all the feedback and comments, we have made several NorthScope 3.0 Framework updates to improve the usability of pages:

  • Applied a framework upgrade
  • Removed the ‘All’ button next to the multi select dropdown Search Options filters on Inquiries, if the option was blank then All was already assumed, and we have added text in the corresponding option that displays ‘All’.
  • We added text to the ‘Search’ option that informs users what fields can be searched on for the associated page.
  • Two new options were added to inquiries below ‘Saved Searches’ called ‘Auto Refresh on Open’ and ‘Auto Hide Filters’. When these are checked, the inquiries will load the data automatically when the inquiry is opened instead of having to click the ‘Refresh’ button each time (provided the Search Options selected has data to match).  When the ‘Auto Hide Filters’ is checked, the search option filters will not display, and just the grid with chosen data will be displayed.  To view the search option filters, there is a new ‘Search Options’ button added to the toolbar that when clicked will expand the page to display those.  If users prefer the data not to automatically load when the page is opened and would like to always see the search option filters, they can uncheck these two boxes and save that search.  The two options are checked by default.
  • When selecting values in a multi-select field, it would always display “x items selected” instead of what was actually selected. Now where there is room to display the value(s) selected we will display the actual value(s), when there is no more room in the textbox we will let you know how many values have been selected.  Sometimes depending on the length of the values for the associated option, this means that even when all values have been selected we will be able to display the actual value, for example, Fiscal Period and Fiscal Year. 
  • Do you want to just search for the last ‘x’ days/weeks/months/years of data instead of having to use the custom date range from the date picker? Well now you can!  For the inquires that have a date range type picker, users can enter ‘Last X day(s)’, ‘Last X week(s)’, ‘Last X month(s)’ or ‘Last X year(s)’ which will be displayed as that text in the corresponding date option filter.
  • To help alleviate any confusion with the Quick Column Filter and the Filter Row that is displayed in grids, we will now display the Filter Row by default.
  • We have updated column names to word wrap where applicable so that users can see all of the column name instead of it sometimes cutting off some of the text without having to expand the column width.
  • We updated the Journal Line Inquiry to not group by default, if users need to group by any of the columns they can still do so by toggling the ‘Group By’ toolbar icon on and dragging the column(s) to group the data.
  • Last but not least, we updated the color and font a little to make reading some of the text easier when adding/editing data.


Bug Fixes

Fisherman Accounting

NS-8046 and NS-8336 Fixed some issues with Fish Tickets resulting from the new Meta Data table

Due to a new table introduced in the NorthScope 3.0 framework to allow users to use Keywords to search on the Fish Ticket inquiries, this caused some issues with deleting Fish Tickets and importing tickets where the ticket class did not have a default Site set.  These issues have been fixed.
