Fisherman Accounting

NS-12820 – Tickets Imported From eLandings Now Summarize Identical Line Items

Some situations faced by tenders in Alaska require them to record multiple instances of the same catch item in eLandings, sometimes with different counts of fish. We’ve updated the eLandings to NorthScope integration process, so NorthScope can summarize the count of fish from each catch item instance, instead of assuming that subsequent instances counts were insignificant.

Inventory

NS-11939Added Warehouse Lot Attributes to Inquiries

Why should Production Batches have the honor of getting their attributes included in list views and inquiries while Warehouse Lots are relegated to second class citizens; their attributes visible only in the Warehouse Lot master files? We fixed an inconsistency where Warehouse Lot attributes were omitted from the Inventory Cycle Count, Lot Balance, Lot Cost History, Transaction History – Lot, Update Costs, Find Lots for both Sales and Inventory, and the Lot Allocation screens. We were having so much fun adding attributes to screens, we kept going and added Warehouse Lot attributes and Production Batch attributes to the As-Of Inventory Balance Inquiry.

NS-11433 & NS-12880 – Fresh vs Upgraded Installation Differences

NorthScope is a living, breathing, evolving piece of software and each new version brings with it changes to the database structure. When we install NorthScope into a completely empty database, though, we use an installation process that jumps directly to the current version. This direct jump is much more efficient but comes with a very small risk that database objects will not be installed the same way as they are in existing systems that have undergone several upgrades. In the case of the Financial Account Class table, it is supposed to have a uniqueness configuration that applies only to NorthScope systems that use a separate general ledger system, such as Dynamics, but in new systems, was causing a unique value error when there really wasn’t one. We’ve fixed that so the unique value configuration is the same for new installations as it is for existing, upgraded NorthScope systems.

While we were working on that item, we identified and fixed another inconsistency between new and existing systems. A database query we use on the Sales Transaction Items list view was omitted from the New System installation script, causing the list view to not load properly.

NS-12677 – Changed Manual Payments to Credit Checkbook GL Account

With the release of Manual Payments, NorthScope now gives you the opportunity to key in a payment you made outside the system, such as to reconcile payroll payments made by your payroll processor. Manual Payments were inadvertently being shown with the incorrect sign in the Checkbook Transaction Inquiry and Bank Reconciliation transaction screen, and were not shown at all on the Checkbook Register Inquiry. We’ve resolved the underlying issue, where a positive Manual Payment was Debiting the Checkbook GL Account instead of Crediting it, so Manual Payments are now displayed everywhere they’re expected and in the correct sign.

Sales Order

NS-12620 – Fixed Sales Invoice Description Not Saving from the Sales Transaction Record View

Sometimes it’s useful to edit an Item’s Description so it shows in a specific way on an invoice-by-invoice basis, without editing the Item’s master file value or setting up a customer item. We’ve fixed an issue on the Sales Transaction Record View, that caused changes keyed in the Invoice Description column to not save as expected.

Sales Programs

NS-12003 – Proactively Cleaned Up Incongruent Customer Sales Program Data

Our Quality Assurance team, in their capacity as software tester, found an issue in their testing installations of NorthScope where a Sales Program was set up to be used with Customer Address Sets but also had several individual Customer Addresses associated with it, which isn’t something the NorthScope User Interface allows to happen. While we are confident this is an anomaly in our internal test data, we proactively developed a data cleanup script to correct this scenario for all NorthScope systems.
